Your first appointment will last about 60-75 minutes. The time will pass “quickly!”
This time will be used to gain a complete understanding of your medical history, current health issues and to discuss your treatment options. We will review your health concerns “in-depth” so Beve can answer all questions you have about your health and wellness.
Beve will also review all of your lab results, if provided before your first visit. It is important to “customize” your optimal lab reference ranges so future labs can be used to monitor your progress.
Together, we will discuss and review your Rx medications, nutrition supplements plus any botanical or herbal medicines/supplements. Timing of when you take these can impact your treatment plan and may factor into your health issues or concerns.
After your appointment, Beve will develop a Nutrition Care Plan summary for you to use between appointments for your on-going care and progress. You will be able to ask questions and get any clarifications needed. Beve will help you understand your health issues, practical nutrition solutions and details about your customized Nutrition Care Plan so you are fully informed and ready to take charge of your health.

Frequently Asked Questions:
- How many appointments will I need?
Beve will schedule to see you 2-3 weeks after your first appointment to monitor your progress and make any changes needed to your Nutrition Care Plan.
Most patients will need to meet with Beve 4-6 times per year or as often as once per month or every 2 weeks as needed.
- Will my health insurance pay for nutrition visits and do I need a referral?
Most health insurance plans will pay for nutrition visits especially Telemedicine visits to keep you healthy during COVID-19. Many plans do not require a referral, co-pay or co-insurance for Nutrition visits. However, you will need a referral from your Primary Care Physician (PCP) for all Kaiser Permanente Plans (except Access PPO) and all MedicareAdvantage Plans.
Many health insurance plans pay for 10 visits up to 24 visits per year while others pay for monthly visits or unlimited visits. It will depend on your plan. Please contact your insurance company, as you may be surprised to find you have fully covered nutrition visits!
Please note that if you have an annual “out-of-pocket” deductible, you will need to meet the deductible before your visits are covered. Again, it is recommended to call the customer service number listed on the back of your insurance card for benefit information.
Nutrition visits are coded as 97802 – First or Initial Visit and 97803 – Follow-Up Visits.
- I am taking nutritional supplements, working out and still feeling tired and exhausted. What is going on? Can nutrition help?
Exhaustion, weight gain and fatigue are common signs of nutritional deficiencies like iron-deficiency, low vitamin D stores and low vitamin B12. Routine labs may not show what is really happening to your body stores of these nutrients. You need specific labs done to find out which supplements you really need – and for how long. Some medications can interfere with the digestion and absorption of certain vitamins and minerals.
